I mean, honestly I have always had a problem with sleep walking, and I have always been caught in the kitchen while asleep, yet I'm on the floor eating something... or drinking from a bottle of soda or the milk carton..

but while on Seroquel I would actually MAKE food... like take stuff out of the fridge and make a sandwich but it was never something I'd eat, or anyone would eat for that matter.
Frozen ravioli and peanut butter sandwhiches and stuff it was insane.

It totally makes sense that any sleeping med is going to give you vivid and weird dreams. I mean, they are meant to sedate you... and when our mind is set free from all the anxiety, worry, anger, etc going through it... it can go to some pretty bizzare places.

seroquel is the only thing that would work when it comes to my insomnia but there is a price to pay for those hours of sleep.
the dreams are insane... so vivid and completely messed up most of the time, plus it would take HOURS after waking in order for me to function correctly.

Editing to add that my previous post to this thread was during a very bad time with my motherinlaw and not a reflection of how I feel about my parents.
