I'm currently sitting in my living room amidst a blanket of magazine clippings and articles covering my floor.  My rotund, ever-hungry furry beast of a cat, who really is the size of an overweight pug at this point, is snoozing on the couch.  Her newest past time involves jumping up on the sink every time I go into tinkle, and demanding that I turn on the faucet for her to drink from the spicket.  She also enjoys looking out the window and making a gutteral "morse code," as my best friend Stephanie calls it, to the crows outside, in somewhat of a defiant, vocal fist-raising way of telling them "you are safe outside the glass door...for now."  I dont' know that my lil Zoe could actually catch, yet alone kill, a crow in her present roundness, but I'm sure there's a kitty heaven in which she will have all of her desires come true.  Here is a picture of her, though you can't fully appreciate her fatness here :)



Has anyone done the Master Cleanse at all?  I'm considering doing it in April, in between my midterms and finals, to see if it genuinely increases my focal abilities and energy, and if the results are positive possibly continuing on into finals.  Any thoughts or advice or general input?

My incredible painter friend, Matthew Bone, recently painted me for a sinful series he completed for his new show in France? Maybe it's in Berlin. Maybe it was just commissioned. Iunno really. But I got the final shot back, here tis below: 



His myspace is myspace.com/destroy_painting if you want to see more work :) The piece is entitled "Glutton for Punishment II," and I got to be covered in chcolate syrup, and strawberry syrup, fake blood and bananers for it. I am realllly excited about how it came out! Him and his wife have two incredible pugs, and the black one, Waffles, is my new boyfriend. Here we are, one big happy polaroid family!

Then on New Year's Day I got to sit for an incredible painter friend of mine, Matthew Bone (myspace.com/destroy_painting).  I can't give too much about the piece away but let's just say it involves lots of whip cream, chocolate syrup, blood, and bananas, and sexiness!  I can't wait to see how it turns out!

I recently got to meet Matt and Maya in L.A. for dinner at this graded C thai place in Santa Monica.  Miraculously we all survived to tell the tale, buttholes and innerds in tact.  They are quite lovely, I can't wait to have another outing with them sometime soon I hope!

In other Swindle news, the roommate and I are in the midst of getting a friendship divorce.  It's a bum out, but I think with time it will all be for  the best.  I hate it when things go sour after so long but it's kinda a part of life.  As David Bowie would say, Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.

I was recently perusing a modeling networking site I'm on only to stumble upon this amazing piece that Tyson McAdoo (www.tysonmcadoo.com) did of me and my friend Mandy!  I've always wondered what I'd look like blonde :)

Fires to the north of me are about ten miles away from my place. Seems like that would be safe, but it's kinda scary because this fire has spread so fast and covered so much ground, so all it needs is a good gust of wind and its where I am. Highways going north out of SD are blocked off. Hghways going east are blocked off, so AZ isn't an option, the fire is hopping the 8 east by the casinos, so that's a no go. And now fires at the Mexico border so they shut down the border as well. It's killed 5 people, spread over 300,000, acres (that's 400 square miles, bigger than NYC apparently) and evacuated 500,000 people form their homes. When I went to bed at 2am last night, it had consumed 600 homes. Now it's up to 1800. There are a total of 8 or 9 fires, some meshing into eachother. Each fire is anywhere from 10 to 0% contained. The hot Santa Ana winds just wont' let up and are blowing it southwest, closer to my place. Right now we're in a volunatry evacuation zone. Last night I packed up a bunch of my clothes and paintings and canvases as a precautionary. I woke up yesterday to my mom asking me to come to hers, on the other side of the city, to pack some of the family photos and papers in my car cause she owns a two seater and couldn't fit them. If we get evacuated I just have to put my kittie, Zoe, and my laptop in the car and I'm good to go. Being prepared is the only way I can really stay calm right now, that and keeping the news on. These fires are spreading so fast, some people haven't had any warning at all. Winds are at 30 to 40 mph, limiting planes from attacking it from the air, with gusts up to 60 mph. Since they can't do the intensive air assaults, and only buckets from helicopters, they are only really fighting it house by house, which isn't having much of an impact. They say the winds may persist through Thursday. Largest fire in southern california history, bigger than the ones four years ago. Feels a lot like deja vu, we went through this whole thing then. Some people are losing their homes for the second time. Wild animals are put out of their homes, the environment is heavily impacted. Bush finally declared it a national emergency (gee, ya think?) and claimes to be sending troops and fire engines our way, but we have yet to see anything, and these fires have been going for over two days now. It's all very surreal. Very frightening. My mom's place is about a mile south of a mandatory evacuation line, so both her and I are next to leave if it moves any further south. However I get the week off from school so that's a great relief :) And in a week and a half, I get to have an Apnea and a Lithium Picnic staying in my bed so I'm really excited about that! And this Satruday, I get to go on a Zombie Crawl through the city yay!! Well, given there's much of a city left hahaha. Sorry this entry was a bit depressing. Caused more debauchery on Saturday night with some other lady pals.  I know one day my intense love/hate relationship with L.A. will overrun me and I will reside there, happy in my miserable encounters with traffic and my surmounting road rage.
