<itunes:summary>I realize I've been really lax about some things. I looked around my house today and got really really angry, both at myself and at my boyfriend. My boyfriend is unemployed at the moment. I refuse to pay his bills, but he gets free rent and I feed him (even though I shouldn't). And he does NOTHING in return. He does the dishes maybe once a week. Maybe. After I throw a hissy fit. And I never had enough energy/time to get this where it needs to be. I'm in law school. I have NO TIME for anything. So why the fuck isn't my lazy ass boyfriend picking up the slack and making himself useful. Hmmm....maybe because I got so tired of fighting him I let him.

Well I'm done. I have a list, and that's his rent. If it's not done in two weeks he's getting kicked out. And after two weeks? Yea, there's going to be another list, since he can't fathom "Oh, the dishes need to be done!" on his own.

Yea, you can't tell I'm fucking pissed can you?

There is a SHITLOAD of stuff that needs to be done around here, and you know what? Too bad I don't have the time. He does. So he's doing it.
</itunes:summary>

And I've gotten worried about whether or not I can get into the IMBA program I'm applying to in November.
The Japanese gives scholarships to grad students who want to study in Japan. It's pretty much a free ride with a stipend.
<itunes:summary>So the horse show was a disaster. My horse just spazzed and decided to be a psycho during the test. But that's ok, we'll fix it. That's my mantra lately, I'll fix it. I'll fix it damnit!

He actually lost a shoe, and is now lame. He bruised his sole, so he's kinda tender. Which blows, but I have permission to ride someone else's horse until he's ok.

I started a new running program. Let's see if this work out.

I think cancelling the presidential debate is stupid, if anyone cares. If McCain was incumbent, it would make sense, but he's not, and I think having both candidates involved would just slow everyone down because they's be too busy showboating to compromise. But no one asked me.

The bailout is also pretty dumb. I mean you can make the taxpayers buy a bunch of mortgage backed securities that no one knows the real value of....or the taxpayers could loan hedge funds the money (which they don't have) to buy those same securities (which they want to do, but don't have the money to do) since they're damn well going to make sure they don't overpay for them. That's still 700 billion, you say? Well, maybe, but the hedge fund guys have more of an incentive to not overpay, and they also really really want washington to be nice to them, regulation wise. Guess who's definitely going t pay that shit back? Yup. So we can pay for a governmental agency to do it...or we can loan guys who make their money off this shit the money to do it. I mean they're both bets, and neither of them terribly good odds, but hell, I really don't think handing FEMA a blank check and saying "No judicial review, have fun!" would have worked out well for that mess, either. But, once again, no one asked me.

Since I'm on a political rant anyway (totally not how I started out) I may as well. FP has an awesome list of 20 questions they want asked during the currently questionable debate. So I shall ask you guys the first one on their list:

If you had been president on Sept. 11, 2001, how would you have responded to the attacks on that tragic day, both in the short term and the long term?
<itunes:summary>There's this chore in law school called spading. You have to do it if you're a member editor on a journal. It's really not bad most of the time, you just double check the author of the article you're editing quoted something correctly and cited it correctly. Not a huge deal, just boring.

And then every now and then you get the complicated problem. For example someone quotes three different quotes in one sentence. And say that those three different quotes were from one case, but that case was citing three other cases. And then suppose that one of them doesn't exist, at least as cited. I'm stopping there, because unless someone reading this is an editor, I've already lost you all. Suffice it to say, it gets even worse.

Guess what I have to do.

In other news, I met my Japanese girl today for EPI, and I really like her. And I REALLY need to practice my Japanese more. We are having dinner and going to see Mamma Mia on Friday. I'm excited. I'm also dragging the boy. She's hot, he'll deal.

Also, I really need to take the GMAT. I keep putting it off because I'm scared. But I'm going to have to buck up. Math. I fail at math.
There's this chore in law school called spading. You have to do it if you're a member editor on a journal. It's really not bad most of the time, you just double check the author of the article you're editing quoted something correctly and cited it correctly. Not a huge deal, just boring.

<itunes:summary>Well the house is officially in some semblance of clean, which is pretty sweet. Clean houses really make me feel better.

Myrtle beach was pretty sweet, except for some last day drama from Jenn's boyfriend. The guy has got some kind of issues but thinks he's "the proof that you don't have to graduate high school to be ok". Whatever. Childish nonsense. Dalt works with him, and so I'm sure that is not helping. That and the fact that they're both drama queen and both really childish every now and then. Whatever, so long as they don't start drama when Jenn and I want to do something, we'll be ok.

School starts next week, we need to go by the old apartment tomorrow and clean some stuff up, and Jenn and I have started a health kick that seems to be working out pretty well so far. Well enough for my thighs and butt to hate me today and yesterday, so pretty successful it would seem.
</itunes:summary>

101 in 1001

      <itunes:author>nyssa</itunes:author>
<itunes:summary>So some of you (my amazing[ly small] audience) have probably heard of 101 in 1001. It's a list of things you want to do in the next 1001 days, like a goal list.

I am a compulsive list-maker, and I love resolutions (even if I only actually do around 50% of them).

Sooooooo....

Live Responsibly

001 Eat out only 1 night a week

003 Buy as much as possible from CSAs and humane farms

004 Let go of/give away/toss away the physical things I don't need

005 If possible, buy a motorcycle

006 Give my friends Kiva loans for Christmas

007 Green my home as much as possible

008 Walk/bike everywhere within 3 miles

009 Eliminate the junkmail coming to my house

Skills

010 Learn how to handle a firearm properly

011 Overcome my black thumb

012 Learn to live on 70% of my income

013 Learn to decorate cakes professionally

014 Develop a list of questions to ask myself before I make a purchase, and get into the habit of using it

015 Learn to ride a motorcycle

016 Sew a coat

017 Subscribe to Japanesepod101 and do an exercise a day five days a week for 1001 days

018 Get my CCP

019 Finish Parelli book

Appearance

020 Buy something from YesStyle and wear it out

021 Get laser

022 Overcome my genes and beat cellulite even if it means surgery

023 Learn the smokey eye

024 Complete my tattoo

025 Get my hair professionally dyed

026 Get great shoes

027 Wear earrings for 365 days (0/365)

Friendship/Family

028 Throw a housewarming party

029 Find a way to pay back the parents

030 Call Jason once a month

031 Send Mom flowers just cause

Relationship

034 Make photo sets for him

035 List 100 things I love about him, and leave them around the house for him to find

036 Save for maybe a *******

040 While in Japan visit all of the "places to see before you die" in that country

041 Go on a camping trip

042 Visit Brookgreen Gardens

School/Education/Career

047 Get into the IMBA program

048 Get back to Japan

049 Finish the Rosetta Stone course

050 Read a Japanese book a month

051 Apply to 100 places for next summers internship

052 Get a Japanese magazine subscription

Financial

055 Set up automatic drafts to savings accounts

<itunes:summary>I got a new haircut, and changed my color. I should probably take pictures of it and post them. I thought the cut was bad at first but after I had it for a day I loved it. And the color was always awesome. I'm pretty impressed with the girl who did it. She's at a salon named Bombshell, and the place is just my style. They've even got a picture of Apnea on the wall.

Of course we haven't completely moved yet, nowhere near it. We have the bare essentials in the new place, and I doubt we'll start moving again until after my exam.

So I dont know what it is about having the new place, but the boy has practically been chasing me around the house he's so horny. Which I do not mind at all. Maybe its the clear shower, or the bathtub (big enough for two people!), but he's always in there when I'm washing and later that night I always get laid. Or else it could be his buddy at work, who's a big fan of anal with his girl, talking about it on the drive home. We've been friends with that couple for a while so maybe that mental image gets him going. I know the guy has the hots for me (according to his girl) so maybe that's it. I would be pretty annoyed if they talk about me in detail, though. Who knows what's got him all riled up. Whatever it is I'm enjoying it.

Fuck, I know SHE talks about how I am in bed in detail. That's probably where dalt's coworker's little thing came from. Like I said, friends for a long time.

<itunes:summary>I have to study. I have an exam in less than a week. And I have a meet and greet in Charlotte tonight with a really fancy schmancy law firm. Which means I need to get a manicure. You would be amazed at what people notice when you're trying to get them to hire you. They have an offices in London and Beijing. I want to work in Beijing. Or Tokyo, but this law firm doesn't have an office there. I'll take what I can get. I do not have time for this crap.

The house is shaping up to look pretty good. We still haven't managed to move most of our stuff. We're living with the bare essentials in the new place until I get this exam done with and can deal with it. That means cats and chilla, food, bed, and kitchen stuff. I need to move more clothes. I need dalt to install the shelves in the closets before I move our clothes.

I keep having people call me to try and get stuff done. I can't do anything. My life ends when it gets close to exams. I shove everything off to one side and just study, so pretty much the house gets turned into a disaster zone while I'm in exams and we eat a bunch of takeout and frozen pizzas. I have not been able to rely on the boy in the past to take up the slack, but he seems to be doing a pretty good job of it this time with the house. Things need to be repaired or done over correctly, cable companies need to be called, ect. He's got two days off. If I can get him to get the bookcase and entertainment stuff over from the old place and set up in the living room, the internet up and running, and the hookup to the dryer fixed before he goes back to work I think that would be a victory. I'm glad he's jumping into this. I've felt we were growing apart in the last few months or well not even that....I dunno, things felt off. Just not right. And in the past week he's been loving and helpful and not a grouch unless I have just woken him up, which is just one of those inescapable things.

OCI (job meat market) has started again, which means I need to update my resume and apply for a bunch of positions by the first week of August. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

I got onto a journal. I'm pretty excited about that because about 100 people of 250 get onto the journals. I'm a little dissapointed though, because I didn't get onto the journal I wanted to. If they had seen my resume they would have let me in, but they just score a writing competition entry and let you in or not based on that and which journal you picked as your first choice. I got my second choice. I really AM dissapointed, even though I should feel lucky I got onto one at all. Perfectionist much?

<itunes:summary>I do not have rent. It's due on Thurdsday. Fucking mother Fuck fuck. The boy won't give me his check because he says he needs to pay his bike note. He gets paid again on friday, the rent is due thurday. The bike people accept late payments. The apartment complex doesn't. He somehow has it in his head that since we have the new place we're moving into next week we can just break the lease, no problem. Of course he thinks so, it isn't HIS credit. GRRRRR!
Finished a 101 in 1001 list, finished the maymester exam which I pray will be a B+ or higher, now it's time to start studying for corporations. I'm supposed to go meet a friend at 8. I dunno if that's going to happen, I have a lot I need to do that I haven't. Like workout. And clean. And lanundry. I need a shower, too.

I shouldn't have wasted so much time today.

I need to clean the house tomorrow because the parentals are coming into town on Wednesday. I wish I could bring myself to ask them for money, but they;ve already covered the boy's bills I couldn't afford for months. I've asked him three times to see if he can get some money off his parents this month (its going to be REAL tough cause I got fucked by the bank...to the tune of 500$). He hasn't yet. I'm increasingly likely to murder him because he can't fathom I don't have the money. I guess that's what I get for supporting him for nearly 6 months.

Fuck this shit, I'm making him clean while I go to Claire's.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>So since I got back from London I have been EXTREMELY busy. Class started, the boy's mom came for the weekend, I'm looking for a job, and I moved my horse to a new barn. Well, we moved all of the horses and all of the equipment to a new property, so it was a bit more complicated than that.

And I have to start studying for an exam. At least this exam I have higher than a 5% chance of getting an A because this professor has permission to ignore the forced curve. So yay for having a chance in hell! And I really need an A right now. If I get two As this summer I can pretty much fix last semester's bullshit, and then some. Heh, if two As can fix it, I guess I didn't do as horribly as I've convinced myself I have.

I've lost ten pounds recently. A little more off and more tone in my belly and thighs and I'll be happy.</itunes:summary>
