<itunes:summary>i'm feeling good! better than i have or a while now.

i just wrapped up the first week of my new/old job. (i was laid off bc i was seasonal, but now i'm back as a permanent employee. huzzah!) i had a nice day to start the weekend with. it's nice coming back to a job and having several people whom i wouldn't have thought would have remembered me, come up and say they are glad to see me back. though i think that's because they're glad to have a class of noobs to relieve the mandatory overtime that's been going on for weeks now. haha.

also i have a slumber party with cooter and another awesome friend to look forward to monday night.

aaaaaaaaand riotnrrd and i are getting ready to go walk to our favorite nummy italian restaurant.

oh! and there is a shit ton of really good MMA on this weekend. 2 good and 1 amazing cards in three days. i'm excited to see some top-notch heavyweight action. you don't get to see that too often.
<itunes:summary>huzzah! things! i have accomplished them!

i'm getting my shit together to go to school. finally getting my BFA. it's been so long since i've been in school, i'm glad i didn't need a portfolio to get into the college of fine arts. i don't exactly have a lot of recent, portfolio-worthy material as of late.

i had to actually go to the school to apply bc of some glitch on their website demanding i pay them $65 before they would process the application. talked to the transfer student coordinator, requested my old college transcripts be sent to the new school. all i have to get now is my high school transcripts (for whatever fuckin' reason) and my financial aid stuffs.

i also had a driving lesson from mom. i'm trying to learn to drive a standard. bah, flashbacks to high school. *shudder* i lasted about 15 mins. 10 mins in the parking lot getting it to do more than lurch and die, then 5 mins on the street, with stop signs at every block. i stalled it quite a few times. attempting again tomorrow evening.

i've done nothing for forever now. and now i feel like i'm on the cusp of being busy constantly. but this is a good thing. i've been stagnant for far far too long. i hope i don't burn out horrifically.
<itunes:summary>yesterday was fun times. ate lunch with some friends from out of town. had dinner with some former/future coworkers (including cooter), and then went to a club to dance with some friends (including raeli). we got there before most everyone arrived. riotnrrd was already tired. i drank my $5 pitcher-sized screwdriver WAY to quickly. we didn't stay long. while riotnrrd drives home, i get even drunker as the alcohol digests and also get slightly car sick. i crashed as soon as we got home. totally shocked i wasn't horrifically hung over this morning. woo-hoo!

this is my last week before i go back to work. technically, i go to orientation this friday. i so don't wanna go back, but i'm totally over not bring home any money. haha. it's the place i worked this past holiday season. it's a decent place to work, but i'm starting to get nervous about gong back. way more nervous than the first time, oddly. gah. stupid anxiety.

tomorrow i step up the appointments to get my school stuff in line for this fall. gotta get my financial shit in line. as does riotnrrd. if we both end up going back to school this fall, i'm not sure if we'll be able to afford the SF trip. stupid priorities, stupid poverty.

this fall is going to cah-razy. the school i'm going to and my workplace are 50 miles apart, with my abode right in the middle. i'm HOPING that i'll be able to only do one or the other on any given day. i've never attempted a 'real' job and school at the same time. i hope i don't end up killing myself.
<itunes:summary>this weekend was fun. chock full o' movies

friday riotnrrd & i watched some flicks we just hadn't gotten around to yet, Ratatouille and The Producers (the musical). i loved Ratatouille. The Producers was much better than i thought it would be. the original is one of my all-time favorites. and while Matthew Broderick is no Gene Wilder (who is? you know, other than Gene.) it was certainly worth watching, if for nothing else other than Will Ferrel as the nazi playwright.

saturday night we socialized with some friends i hadn't spent time with in forever. the night was filled with pizza, scattergories and a hot tub.

yesterday my best friend and i saw Wall-E. YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE! it's unbelievably cute. i teared up near the end, cause i'm a sucker like that. haha. (random trivia about me: the first movie that i can remember making me cry is Follow that Bird. they locked up Big Bird and he sang a sad song! oh noes!)

then my friend and i get home and watched Les Triplettes de Belleville and had some great conversations. i was sad he was too tired afterward to watch the Birdcage with me. i fuckin' LOVE that movie. i've got a small toy turtle that in high school i named Agador Sparticus.
<itunes:summary>i just woke up from the most bizarre dream.

i went to go visit my dad (whom i haven't seen since i was 11 or 12, by my own choice) in Scranton, PA. i went to the address where i was supposed to meet him, this old dilapidated house, and there were about 7-10 squatters there. i look around, none are my dad. i sit down and wait. what seemed like hours pass and i get up to wander about looking for him. i go into a bedroom and see him asleep on the bed. i lean over and wake him up. he looked at me with a blank stare. "don't you recognize me? look at my eyes. look at my nose." "Mandy...?" he said, fucking up my name.

i get pissed and decide to leave. i started thinking about other places i could go (home was not one of them, for whatever reason.), and decided on heading for NC to my uncle's house. i'm outside and he runs out after me, apologizes, and asks me to come inside for dinner. i'm not hungry and vegetarian i tell him, but i end up going back in and cooking dinner with him. we stand side by side at the stove. i look over and see his face is mine. i see we have relatively the same build, tall and lanky. it was exceptionally bizarre because i TOWER over my 'real' family. my mom is 5'1''', stepdad 5'7''. i'm between 5'10 & 5'11''. i'm looking at a relative stranger and seeing all these similarities. i gasp and pull away, taking the hot cast iron pan of frying chicken with me and it crashes to the floor. i scream in preparation of the grease splashing my bare legs. and then i wake up.

(sorry if that was unreadable. i had to stream-of-consciousness that mother-fucker and clean it up afterwards.)

fuckin' weird as hell. i'm not the type that dreams and remembers. this was so vivid. i could smell the old squatters' place and the frying food.

i'm also not the type to analyze dreams, for they are IMHO just brain vomit from your recent experiences. i pride myself of being rational with these sorts of things.

but that doesn't mean i don't feel weirded out afterwards.
</itunes:summary>
but that doesn't mean i don't feel weirded out afterwards.

      <itunes:summary>this morning, i looked out at my garden and saw this!

it's my first blossom on my squash. yay! i can't wait until they are full grown so i can eat 'em up! nom nom nom...

i also got a call from the prospective/former job saying they want me back. i had to fill out some things online and they should call me in a couple days for sure. woo hoo! yay for not being unemployed! and that means it's hair dyeing time! but what color to choose? i got tons, it'll depend on my mood right then, i suppose.

aaaaaaand, i can finally put my hair in pig tails, so it's off of my neck. this will make growing the hair out much easier.

only FOUR more days til we leave for Louisville! sooo excited! so many deviants i haven't met will be there. i hope i don't spaz too horribly.
</itunes:summary>
